My husband just picked up a IH trailer plow, 2bottom on rubber he thinks from about the50's. He thought he could fix it up but can't find the parts he needs; points shares sliders. Can any body help him out or head him in hte right dirrection to find parts? He'll be miserable to live with till he finds something. Joyce

I just finished this #8 Little Genius 3 bottom plow. I was able to get new shins, shares, and a new moldboard through my local IH dealer but get ready for sticker shock. I am lucky enough to have a partsman that has been there for about 30 yrs. After tasking these pictures I went down back and proceeded to get it dirty. I have 16" Chief bottoms but my old M held 2nd gear in 20 yr sod at about 8". third party image

Joyce: Where do you people live? US and Canadian plows of same model may not have the same bottoms. Aside from that difference, IH also had several bottoms. Most of this depended on soil types where plows were being sold. Nebraska where Allan lives may have used different bottoms from MA or FL or Canadian prairies It is best to find the part numbers of all the wear parts, on those plow bottoms. More important even than the plow model number as those bottoms would have been used on several models. Then do as Allan said. Years ago you didn't need this as IH partsmen always kept record of who had which plow. They have kind of lost track after 50 years. At least my IH parts man was that good.

Hi Joyce,

Know the model number of the plow? Call CaseIH.

Haven't seen a part yet that they couldn't come up with.

Allan

You could try this gentleman, Clair Ziegler in Tomah, Wisconsin. He has a lot of used plow parts. He sells a lot of the parts to the Amish farmers near him. You will need numbers of the old parts for him to check to see what he has. He is 85 years old so he knows the old plows well. His phone number is 608-372-5204. Good Luck :>)
