Hello everyone. We are looking at an International tractor. it says D350 on the hood, has a 2 point hitch on the rear, a loader on the front. it's diesel. We'd like to know a couple of things before we look to buy this tractor:

1. does this model have a live PTO?
2. could this little tractor move rather large round hay bales?

The guy is selling the mower (bush hog type) and a grader blade with the tractor too. We think it's a good price if it all works well (which he swears it does). He says there's 'something funny about the transmission' but that it works fine. ANyone know of any known issues with this model and its transmission?

Thanks in advance. I know nothing about this modle, so any info would be appreciated (we are replacing a Case 730 gas tractor with this if we buy it--much smaller!)

Try to find out more about the trans. problem, have him describe exactly how it acts. See if the owner knows when or if the engine was rebuilt. If you have to rebuild it you'll spending big bucks, engine parts are expensive for the GD-193. Check the steering for any looseness, steering boxes can give trouble if used with a loader or abused. Does it have power steering ? The rear lift will most likely lift a large bale, don't know about loader. Does loader have a crankshaft driven pump out front or does it use tractor pump ? Not trying to talk you out of tractor (I have one like it and wouldn't think of selling it), but I you will be loosing about 100-1500 lbs. and 10-15 hp. to the Case. Let us know what you find out about it!

It may be hanging up coming out of gears....bad clutch adjustment, wrong trans fluid,or worn shifter stem.Or if it has TA,it could be slipping.
As for PTO,it could have an independent PTO.You would need info off the serial plate.
Nowhere does a 350U say "D350" on the hood.It would say Diesel 350 Utility.

Thanks everyone. I'll pass the info onto my husband.

Our Case 730 is in dire need of an overhaul of the hydrolics (no lifting power on the 3point after a fluid change). We've been using a borrowed tractor to move our rounds this winter. Sort of wearing out our welcome on the neighbors' 1996 JD tractor. So, ANYTHING that will move a round is better than our current tractor. The Case runs like a charm (I rebuilt the carb last summer and tuned her up), just won't lift a fly. We could use the bucket too....
