I asked a while back about finding the year by casting codes, well it appears I have a 62 model with an H in the year spot being the newest code I found. Someone mentioned I should look for something that said the rear end had been upgraded by IH,a recall or something. Where do I look for that? And what am I looking for? Remember I don't have the right ser# tag because the TA housing has been changed. Thanks again

560"s that had the rear end upgraded in the field have a triangle stamped onto the serial # tag.

Chris: If your tractor is a 62 you need not worry about upgrades, they would have been done at factory. The problm was corrected long before 62s were out.

Hugh: I would still like to know how to identify if a 560's rear end has been upgraded. I have a 58 model also and would like to know.

Chris: They were identified in some way. There was a discussion on this here at YT some time ago. I can't even remember who was involved. The problem tractors were all 58, 59 or early 60 models. Why not start a new thread specifically asking how to identify upgraded early production 460 and 560. If someone were to ask me who knows answer, my first guesses would be Aces, tractor vet or Dr. Evil.

I believe that a triangle was stamped at the end of the serial number of the tractor.
