Got thinking about that HTA topic that springs up about daily, and it brought to mind our Super F-12. An old F-12 with a Chevy 216. Lots of fun back in the 50"s. And then I thought, maybe an M with a "Powerstroke". Hmmmmm mmmmm?

Ok, got two more to add. I have seen an International V-8 (either 345 or 304) in a B Farmall that looked like a factory job. They guy calls it a Super B. I’m sure it is only for show.

I took a B rear end and put a VF-4 Wisconsin in front of it put an old car axle upside down under it and added an M belly pump for live hydraulics and called it a BW. I used to mow hay with it a lot. It would pass my M going down the road!!!

CNKS has a point, but I know a guy that pulls his M at around 95 hp, and I am sure there are a lot of guys that do the same thing. A Powerstroke, obviously, would be way above that. But like the other posts said, if you don't pull it, use it with the implements it was intended, and don't weight the heck out of the rear end, you won't need to touch the tranny or the rear end, the tires will simply spin. It is your $, you would have a neat conversation piece if that's what you are after, but I wouldn't worry about shelling out the tranny or rear end. At least, no with the first M, if you go through it pretty fast, then maybe :)

I imagine the pulling guys are used to replacing parts, just part of what they are doing. As stated, if you ar actually farming with it and don't overload the rear, it's ok. I always remember the 460/560 problems with only maybe 10 added hp, and wonder how those with the modified engines make their trans/rear gears last.

We put a 345IH V8 in my neighbors 560 two years ago, Put a 345 in my M last winter. This winter I'm putting a Chev 2,8 V6 in a super H. None of the frame rails are widened or lengthened in any of them. The 560 and the M are goverend @ 1950 rpm . The H has a 4 speed mounted in the torque tube that is locked in second gear, We don't pull them and if you use the implements they were intended for, they do just fine.
