The shaft that the clutch pedal mounts on has a lot of wear on my SMTA. How hard is it to get this shaft out? Thanks for any advice.

Thanks guys. I was worried about getting the shaft out but if it just slides out it will be easy. I just ordered brakes and some other stuff from Mike at Steel wheel I'll call him Monday about the shaft.

Both Larry and Icbateman are correct, and any good machine shop can make a new shaft, and machine and install bushings in the clutch and brake pedals. Mike Bunck at Steel Wheel Ranch may well be the cheapest though, if he has an unworn pedal--785-548-7437. A new shaft, along with machining and bronze bushings in the clutch and one brake pedal cost me over $200 last year, so shop around.

I pull the shaft out , weld it up than turn it down. I drill out the pedal & install a oil light bushing

Easy to get out! Just remove all of the attachments and slide it out. You will want to replace the seals during repairs. I doubled up on my seals since the originals with double seals in one unit cannot be had anymore.

Also, give Mike Bunch a call. Get his number @ "SteelWheelRanch.com". He had a new one (shaft) made for me at a very reasonable price and furnished a tight fitting clutch pedal to boot! He can also furnish the seals if desired. Very knowledgable. Ranks A+ in my book!
