My Super M, sn 27223, I knew missed the mark by just a little bit. However, the other one I bought this fall, 30006, is a cheap version from IH. No hydraulics period, no belly pump or distributor drive, magneto not distributor, yet it has the battery BOX (acutal battery is under the tank, lol) and the choke, belt pully, and starter levers on the left. It's a character tractor, much of the reason I bought it. If it is able to take a belly pump (which I would expect it would) I plan on putting one in sometime. Otherwise, it is a great conversational piece in my shed until I get it running. All the parts are there, the time to put them in isn't yet!!!

Saw M in sale last spring that had 2 live pumps in tandem plus belly pump and they all were plumbed up and functionable. One live pump ran loader and was phase 2 SM system other live pump ran power steering amd belly pump ran 3 point hitch.

Serial # F-28175 or L-504802 and higher were
produced for live hyd. You could still get them higher than these serial # without live hyd. and with a belley pump. A cover under clutch housing was used with live
hyd. that looks like belley pump on bottom but
nothing extends into clutch housing.another cover
mostly flat could be found also on live hyd. tractors,or no hyd.

An expert will answer, but it would not make any sense for the factory to install a belly pump and a live pump. They had the blank fillers to cover the hole right there in the factory and I'm sure they were much cheaper than the belly pump.

I suspect the factory never had belly pumps and live pumps on the same assembly line for very long. When the new pumps were available they worked off their inventory of belly pumps and went to live pumps unless some joker made a special order.

Tractors you see with both have had the live pump added. The owner may not have had a blanking plate avilable.

Many farmers added the live pump as an aftermarket add-on, and left the belly pump in place as a reservoir.
