Recently purchased a Farmall "460" which had not been started in 9 years. Pulled the valve cover to get the head reworked and noticed several small pin (rust) holes in the top of the cover. Any suggestions on how to fix? Do I need to find a good used one some where? Thanks in advance for your feed back/thoughts.

If they are isolated spots and the rest of the cover is ok, sand and use JB weld, sand and paint to prevent further rusting. JB weld can be sanded smooth, with difficulty.

You might be able to use a valve cover off a pickup that used that same engine as well.

Any of the tractor salvage yards mentioned on this board can probably supply you with one inexpensively.
