Does any one know of a procedure to invert a large Ag tire so it can be used as a livestock feeder?? Seems like it could be VERY difficult! Has any one had any experience with this?

ya, you could do one yourself. cut the bead off one side. Them you will have to figure some way to hold the tire solid. the guys that do it comercialy have a disk that fits inside the tire but big enough so it won't fit through the hole. then several hooks over the sidewall on the outside and pull real hard. just like skinning a muskrat. I'd think a guy could fasten the tire to a tree and then pull with a tracor. If there are guys in your area that would sure be the best. They will do it for about $5 if you take the tire to them where they are working.

Hi Butch,

Yep, they do it around here all the time. It takes a special machine to do it tho.

Might talk to your local tire store or Ag Feed store. Maybe they know of someone who has the tire press.

Aw Shucks!!

I was hoping there was a method involving a few guys, some crude tools, and a little elbow grease. Maybe I'll try calling one of our local "goodyear guys" then. Thanks Allen! I enjoy reading your posts and seeing some of your pictures. One of your recent replies showed an 856. What a beauty!! I got to deliver one to my Dad some time back. He bought it new when he was still Dairying.

I'm pretty sure you can do it with a strong pallet, lots of concrete blocks (for ballest) and at least two cans of ether for motivation. Do you have a brother in law who drinks beer? And smokes? Let us know what you come up with.
