I'll tackle this one first. This tractor has more leaks than seals. She is an original MTA which starts, runs, and pulls when some of the newer tractors won't. On the side of the hydraulic fluid reservoir...right side as you are sitting in the seat....there is (for lack of a better description) a lever that goes through into the reservoir. Fluid leaks out around where it passes thru. This "lever" is attached to one of the two hydraulic controls. I hope I described that well enough! I have never looked inside to see what is in there but the fellow who sold me the tractor very honestly told me that there were a lot of little parts and best to leave it be. He said he would rather lose a quart of fluid each year than fix it. I tend to be of a different mind set. There is fluid all over the deck and it is a greasy mess. Anyone ever fix a leak of this type? How hard was it?

Dave the inside of the reservoir has the same parts in it as an old belly pump so not that hard to work on. That lever just has an o ring on it. You will have to remove the reservoir from the tractor take the cover off then remove the lever and replace the o ring.

Thank you much! I'm going to give it a try. I hate that fluid leaking all over the place.
