Be careful of what you read on here sometimes.

The difference is the width of the rear end. A BN is 8 inches overall narrower than a B. 4 inches on each side.
The differential shafts and housings of a B are about 22 inches each side, on a BN they are about 18 inches each side. There are a few other things that have to be different dimentions to accomodate that, but they use the same engine, transmission, final drives etc.
The housings on a BN are the same length as an A, but as gene b pointed out, they are NOT the same in other ways.

You are correct RED DAVE sometimes the info is given cause i think so or it mite be if you dont know from experience these bits should not be answered as there are too many old wives tales given. Example i know where there is a SUPER B.

The rear end wheelbase on a BN is 11 in more narrow than the B. That is the only difference I know of.

The axle tube is the same length on both sides as one from an A but the tubes on the BN have the bosses for rear tooling same bolt pattern as a B.

The main difference between the B and the BN is the width between the pads for the drawbar mount, which is the axle tube length. The A used the same axle tube as the BN. The B or BN could have either the single or twin ft. wheels. Otherwise they are the same tractor.

B 55 3/8"
BN 47 3/8"
