I have found a W-6 in the weeds that is stuck. One suggestion was to put and engine out of a M. Is this the same as the original engine or will it just bolt up. Curious as to bore, stroke, cubic inches, and hp of each engine if they are different. Thank you in advance

They use the same engine, you only have to change the timing gear cover because the W-6 front engine mount is behind the front crankshaft pulley. Bore is 3 7/8 Stroke is 5 1/4, 248 CID. There is a good chance it has the Super kit in it, increasing it to a 4 inch bore, 264 CID.

Thank you for the bor and stroke info. Do you know the hp rating of the tractor. Would a 10ft brushhog be too big?

With 3 7/8 pistons it was rated about 35, a gas head will get you some power, Super kit will get even more. It's not uncommon to hear of people getting 50 or better out of an M/W-6 with step-head pistons. I think a 5 ft bushhog would be more appropriate, a 10 ft. Woods is all our 3020 Deere wants in some places.

10 foot bush hog would be to big, an 8 foot would work real well with it though.
