Since everyone was so helpfull the last time i posted a question...can anyone say whats a good way to tell if brakes need to be done (besides driving thru the rear wall of the barn)? My W4's squeel a bit but will hold the tractor in neutral when locked. Is squeeling an indication of metal on metal or just old hardened linings? Thanks in advance for any input.

I redid my brakes when I could not slow the tractor on a downhill with a load of hay behind me. Thats a dangerous test and not recommended. If the tractor turns promptly when you press the left brake and then the right(Do this in 1st or 2nd NOT in 5th) it probably means the brakes are Ok. Having to stand on the peddles to notice a difference is not a good sign.
