Well i discussed this here alot but now its do or die time, on monday i need my dicision of 13.6 or 12.4 " of tire for the rear of my 1950 H. This is my grandpas and my goal is to be as original as posible and basicly 95% show, 5% playing around "work" (nothing major, posibly messing around with a 2 bottom plow once in a while) I really think i should get the 12.4 becuase thats what it came with but everyone is telling me to get the 13.6 What would you do?

I put 13.6's on my Super M because it was original size. I would go 12.4's with your H, they look great, they pull fine, and if you are going to 95% show, they will do more than their share to pull a 2 bottom plow and carry original equipment at the showgrounds. Good luck.

I know it's not in the running, but 11.2's look the very best on an H.

I just put a new set of 12.4's on my brothers 51 H, They look good, put 13.6's on my M to, i think that the 13's are to big for an H. We put firestone on, they dont make them in 45deg bar, So if you want 45deg, bar, than i think you would have to go with goodyear or bf goodrich, or who ever else make 45's.

Kevin:

Personally speaking I think the 12.4"s look a lot better..but.. that"s only my opinion (it"s what I have on my H). A good friend of mine has 13.6"s on his H and thinks that they are much better.

Just make sure your front tires match your rear tires or otherwise you'll be running down hill all the time. Just for asthetics some people don't notice it but every time you upsize your rear wheel width with the same outer diameter you raise the height of your vehicle. If you want to widen your rear tire you may have to go to something like a 36 or 34 diameter which requires a wheel center change and rim. I suggest matching the rear wheels to the fronts. Most of the time years ago we always saw 12" on 11" rims which were specially widened to accomodate this procedure. In other word 12-4's shouldn't be a problem 13's could be.2 cents

If your going for resteration go with the 12.4s If that doesnt matter to you then I agree with punchie I beleve it was.I have 13.6 6 ply on my H and have run the double ring chains on it almost consent and spin the heck out of them in the winter and they still look like new.
PS. Everybody mistakes my H for an M with those tires on it JON

I've got 12.4's on my 1950 "H". And I have 13.6's on my 350. The h has good power and will do anything you need with the 12.4's. If you want the bigger tires then put them on. But 12.4's are a good choice. My H is restored and I plow, show, and tug pull it every now and then.

13.6 ; 6 ply last forever, and be there if you ever sell it.

I also wanted to add that if you go with the 13.6 you will want the 11 inch double drop rim.The stock rim I think would have been 10" single drop. I may be wrong becuase of the year of your tractor. But I am sure someone will corect me.LOL JON

Go with 12-4 as 13-6 may be too wide for your rim.
The 12-4 will look good. I have them on my H.
