I have developed a leak ? that appears to be coming from the area of the bottom hose. In fact I thought it was the hose so I replaced it and after it warmed up it started to leak again. There is a set of small hydralic?? lines right under the bottom hose (power steering?) I don't think it has anything to do with the leak. Question is is there something I should check before I take the radiator off and have repaired?? Hate to get it off if I don't have to. Thanks

Curt,

Are you absolutely sure you have a leak? If you fill 'em clear up, then heat 'em up, they will slobber out quite a bit to the overflow until the rad level is down just above the plates a bit.

Just tryin' to help,

Allan

I'll check the level but I pretty sure it wasn't it wasn't coming out of the overflow. I like the saving work idea

Curt, you're probably seeing the power steering or hydraulic oil cooler lines, but they will have nothing to do with a leak. The best way to check is to remove the hood and side panels, warm up the engine, and start looking. It should jump right out at you. Don't forget about the drain cock in the bottom of the radiator, those can leak. Did you put new hose clamps on the lower hose when you replaced it? Sometimes it just dosen't work to reuse the old clamps. Other than that, you'll have to pull the radiator and have it leak tested, Really not too bad to remove.
