Looking to convert "40 Faramll M to electronic ignition, does anyone know who sells a good unit? My daughter pulls the tractor in alot of area pulls and would like to improve the tractor's performance. Thanks for any information.

Hi Tom,

I guess I don't understand why you think electronic ignition will help improve performance? Spark is spark.

I think you get a hotter spark from e-ignition,hence moe power?

Mornin' Steve,

How's things goin' down in your country?

Naw, don't think so; that's one of those tales started and purported by the young hot-rodders with their shinny new chrome exhaust pipes.

Hotter and stronger spark? Yes, absolutely. More power? No, not one nickel's worth of difference from that standpoint.

However, I’ll concede that the steady “occurrence” of spark is more reliable with the use of electronic ignition.

Best of the day to ya,

Allan

Good morning Allan;

Well ya,But sure liked the elctronic ignition on my M. It set under a Farmhand F-10 loader so never did any field work with it. Left that to the 706 German and the TO-30 Ferguson.

We had some rains thru here last week or so. Now they are picking chiles, by hand labor mostly. Pecan growers are flooding their orchards from irigation wells as there is no water in the Rio Grande.

Hope UNL is on a winning track now.

Have a good day.
