When did farmall/IH start using 3 point hitchs on their smaller, under 50hp, tractors? What tractors were they?

IH 240 and 340 utility models could be ordered with standard complete category 1 three-point hitch system instead of the two-point Fast Hitch. Not a conversion of a two-point or able to receive two-point equipment.

The first IH tractor really designed to work with 3-point equipment was the 300 Utility (45 Hp, introduced in 1955). Those equiped with the "Fast Hitch" option have a built in attachment point for a 3-point toplink; the bottom two attachment points to the 3-point require conversion bars (still available). This works quite well - I prefer it to the Ford and other 3-point systems which were available in the '50s, but opinions vary on this.

The first small IH tractor not requiring a hitch conversion to use 3-point equipment didn't come along until sometime in the '60s, I believe.

I think the first IH tractors with real 3 point hitches might have been the british designeed ones. The B275, 404, 414, 424, 444, etc. Not sure about this though.
