The 444 did have the BD154 engine, but if it is British built I have no access to those serial numbers. The US built 444's have the usual serials beginning with 501.

we had a tractor just like this, it was a model 2300 which I think is industrial, it was yellow instead of red. look up a 354 diesel model its what the 2300 crossed over to. its not a 444 it has the same transmission and rearend of the 444 good luck.

It is NOT a 384 - different dashboard .. and NOT a 424 or 444 - which have a rearward sloping front axle .. So ... It is either a 354 (BD-144 engine) or 364 (BD-154 engine). Cheers

Well the id plate says it's made in Great Britain, I don't think it is a 444 the ones i have fount to look at have flat fenders and steering control is on the right, mine has rounded fenders and steering control on the left, it also has a cat 2 three point hitch with double arm pins that has been adapted down to cat1, this thing has me pulling what hair i have left out, there are several people here that have had Internationals over the years and non have ever seen one like this, maybe it's a unidentifiable freek. Send me a E-Mail and i'll send you a Picture of it. dcroc84375@aol.com

I don"t think this tractor is a 364 because it seems way to powerful for a 35 hp engine, i had a ford 37hp and this tractor will out pull and work the ford hands down, it also has a cat 2 3point on it with a 4 speed hi-low and differental lock. I have pictures of the tractor but don"t know how to post them here, If you guys will shoot me a e-mail address i"ll be glad to send them to you. Thanks.

I have a 444 and the model is on the top of the serial number plate on the left right side of the bell housing.

Ben,

The serial numbers don't work for a 364, but might work for a 1968 IH-444 or a 1978 IH-384. Suggest you go to www.ironsearch.com which has good photos of both tractors. Pick the one that looks like yours!

Not saying the SN will work, but the 444 SN plate also has the model number on it.
