I have an old spraying rig my dad bought about 15 years ago. It's a 3 piston high pressure pump, operated by a 4 cyl. engine. There is an I.D. tag; it says The Hardie Manufacturing Co. (also Hardie Equipment). Model # looks like DF 24 B; Serial 646. We've been told that the engine is a WWII era Jeep engine. (Maybe serial 646 is June '46?) There is a reel and hose with high pressure handle (as opposed to having a boom). I don't really have any use for this unit now, but have considered trying to make it operable again (just because I love to take old stuff and make it work again). Any info y'all can give in terms of correct date of manufacture, original function (orchard work, greenhouse, etc.?) and possibly parts availability and pricing (or any other pertinent info)is greatly appreciated. Thanks much for your time, and y'all have a great day!

Sorry for no pic, but the wife smoked the digital camera. This is constructed as a channel iron frame, with something like a 300 gal. tank on the frame. This tank ass'y houses the engine/pump unit, and water supply is from a sepatate tank. The above-mentioned I.D. tag is on the channel iron frame, so it's not a home-built unit.

I was looking for information on the same type of sprayer that you posted about, The Hardie orchard sprayer. I was wondering what you have found out about them. My grandfather used one in our orchard years ago and I want to put it all back together. Please e-mail me with any information that you have come across. Matt
