Right wheel turns, left wheel doesn't!?

I'm putting my A back together after having cleaned out the ancient oil and replaced all oil seals and gaskets and checked the bearings. I just completed the back end, differential shafts, axle, PTO and belt pulley. Since the engine is still on the stand I turned the drive shaft by hand to see how things were doing. The right axle turns, the PTO and belt pulley turn; but the left axle doesn't turn. Every now and then I could see it turn just slightly. What did I do wrong? Before I tear into that side again I want to have an idea of what to look for. Is it the differential gear (I left it just as it was) or is it the bull gear turned the wrong way (can it even be put in wrong?)? Or maybe something else?

Its my guess that nothing is wrong as power is transfered to the right side through the the side and pinion gears in the center of the diff. With the rear of the tractor off of the ground, lock the brake on the right wheel and try it again. You should now see the left axle turn. Steve in MT

Shoot! I understand now. I went out to the shop and turned the left hub by hand and it ALSO turned the PTO and drive shaft. So, all is well.

Or as an alternative to Steve's way. Lower both rear wheels to the ground and then turn the shaft and see if the tractor moves forward smoothly. LOL
