Hi All,

Kelly C just found a NH 850 chain baler at an auction and grabbed it for $600.

I'm tellin' ya, this guy is leading some kind of a charmed life!!!

Kelly, I'm impressed! You have just got to have a "nose" for these good deals you seem to always be running across.

I think the only one that tops this deal is that F2 Gleaner that Nebraska Cowman got for free.

How do you guys do it?

Allan

I think he bought my uncle's neighbors bailer. I here that it was a good machine and well maintained. He up graded this summer and said that they would have given hime more for trade than the got at the auction on sat.
I think he did good!

Is this it? Tell him thanks!!! I really needed to upgrade from my IH 241 and was no way I could spend big bucks on a baler right now.
Lesson though. Real bad time of year to sell balers. All the rounders were low compared to the july sale. By a wide margin.

I have to disagree with you Allan. New holland chain balers are not worth $6 in my opinion. They make soft rough looking bales and loose 3/4 of the leaves in the process. Chains, guides, sprokets are always wearing out or breaking. A new holland or any brand belt baler will do a much better job with much less upkeep. As you can tell I've had a bad experence with new holland chain hay beaters!

Oh scott, don't get your shorts all in a wad. I have an 855 New Holland that has baled more hay than you have ever seen and it will still start a bale "anytime anywhere" I believe it would bale cottonwood trees if you could get them in a windrow.

Hi Scott,

Yes, I would guess that 100 people would have 150 opinions on just about any subject matter. :>)

That's what is so nice about this forum. :>)

Allan
