Does anybody know what size hydraulic cylinders are needed on a Farmall H loader. From what I can tell the pump on older Farmall's are low pressure high volume.Which i can figure you need a 3 to 4 inch bore to compensate for low pump pressure.Am i correct? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Ken

I just salvaged one of these farmall loaders and I think I have the two 3" cylinders you are talking about. Am in central Nebraska.

Plumb in a pressure gauge and see what you get for pressure. I have a '40 H abd it has the higher pressure pump. The local surplus / salvage store has 0 -1000 psi gauges for about $5. They may not be the most accurate, but they can tell the difference between 500 and 800 psi.

A three inch will do just fine and lift more than you probably need. Just remember you only need one way cyclinders unless you want down pressure then you will need to add a two-way spool to operate them.
