If you guys rememberthe hard time I have been having with my 460.
I think I got it. Intake gasket is the problem. I swear I checked it about 5 times and seemed just fine. Had a 30 year IH mechanic take a look and he found it right away.
I started her up and he said. " Thats good Ive heard that enough times" He then pointed to the spot where its leaking.
Will see if thats it. has to be though fixed every thing else. I still cant hear or tell there is a leak. But hey I dont have 30 years of IH under me.

If all else fails and your tractor will idle but won"t operate at a higher throttle setting, look at the main carb bowl gasket. They are made to be symetric with one exception. There is a little hole on one side close to the venturi for the high speed jet. If the gasket is installed upside down, the jet is blocked and it will run very lean and hot at high rpm. They could just punch two holes so there would be no chance of messing it up, but that would cost an extra cent! I made this mistake with my 200 and about a month later found it happened when my friend got his H"s rebuilt carb back from the shop.

Hi Kelly, Glad to hear you got it fixed! I do remember reading one of your posts and a number of guys hit the nail on the head mentioning a leaking gasket. Enjoy the tractor!

My H ran like crap for a few years I could not figure it out I was a teenager then. My Neighbor that only owns M&Ms came up I started it he tightened the intake up and low and behold she purred like a kitten. JON
