On a 1975 or older that is NOTHING for hours. Actually I'd consider that pretty low hours on a 1990 or older.

Joseph: One of the items I found unbelieveable since coming to YT is the number of low hour tractors in the land. My opinion is if you didn't have at least 750 hours of work per year for the tractor, your money was probably better off invested somewhere else. Too many over powered farms have kept a lot of farmers poor. But then history is history.

I ran across a guy the other day, restoring his dad's Farmall 300. It was bought new to cash crop 500 acres along with another smaller tractor. I can see those old gassers having low hours as they soon got parked in favour of much more efficient new diesels in the 60's. There has been no reason since to park the diesel.

I would say it's average for a bigger feild tractor. That's not saying you won't find some with less or some with a lot more. If you find one of that vintage with under 5000 hrs, I would be suspious of hourmeter tampering or replacement unless you know the owner and history of the tractor.

I am awfully proud of the 15000 on our 806, but you ask around and that's nothing. I know a guy with 20,000 on his 361. He told me he was going to put a new bottom in in it, and found it the bearings were still within new tolerances, according to his dealer. Those engines will run and how.
