i have a 1960's 460 Hi-Utility. i've oly heard about one other in an add in red power magaziene. does anyone have any info on this tractor? i have a freemean 4000 loader on it. it have a live PTO, TA and a quick hitch. it sets high like a row crop, but it has an adujuatable front axle, and wheels that are adujustable like the H's and M's. any infor would br great. thanks

i have one more question. should the tractor have fenders like a 560 or the earlyer style like the 300 series? (also have a 50's utility 350) thanks

Check the tractor photos, link is to your left. I would think that it would have the later fenders, don't remember.

IH made 11400 or so 460 utilities, a relatively small number were like yours, don't know how many. Other than the axles and larger rear tires, it is about the same as the lower clearance version. I imagine it has different transmission ratios to allow for the larger tires, not sure. I would consider it to be rare, so it should be worth some money restored.

CNKS: Actually you would be quite surprised how little the differences between regular utility and high utility. It has no more differences than Farmall rear axles and longer front spindles, probably mounting step a bit different.

If you compare a Farmall and a Utility in the same model, all the castings from drawbar to engine are same excepting transmission top. The ratios within are the same as well.
