I have 4 weights i am going to put on my m. Dad got me 8in bolts from work to put them on with. Now, will the 8 in bolts work? I have seen some put the first weight on with a small bolt, them keep adding onto it with smaller bolts. Whats better, short or long?

Put one weight on each side using 2 short bolts, 180 degrees from each other, then install the second weight using 2 of the long bolts, going through the wheel, the first weight, and the second weight. The job will be much more manageable that way. It will take 2 people, one guy with a strong back to lift the weight, and another person to guide the bolts into place. If I remember correctly, those weights weigh about 150 pds. each.

depends on how much help you have and how many weights you want to get lined up at once. pulling my M i got allthread and tightened one peice down on the wheel, hung the weights and stuck the other peice in and then tightened them down.

I too use allthread. Peen the inside nuts on the allthread so they don't twist out when tightening, measure the width of the weight when it is mounted up to another weight, and add how many weights you are going to use and cut the allthread to that length, plus the width of the nut on the inside and the outside. I have three on my M and four on the 560 with the loader and they both stay on the ground where they're supposed to. Harley
