Can anyone tell me what kind of pistons I have on my H? It's a 1946 s/n 236306 with a head s/n 8043-dc. The piston has a step on it so I assume it's a step head piston, but there is also a fire crater piston too. Maybe they are the same. The numbers on the piston are cam-z16,374313-r1 and 4078. If any one can clear this up for me it would be great.

What youu have are standard altitude firecraters.

Cam-Z16 is the pattern at which the pistons are dimensioned (cam ground)

374313R1 is the IH part number for that particular piston

4078 is the Zollner (maker of the piston)part number

I cant say for 100% but I beleve when I had the head off my Super M the fire crators had the IH insignia on the top of them. The R1 sounds like a IH # though If your asking if there the same. High domes fire crators step head different manufacture same Idea. JON
