How do I check the hydraulic oil level in my M? I pulled the plug on top, expecting a dipstick, but there ain't one there. Am I looking in the wrong spot? If the dipstick is gone, is there any other way to guage when full? Also, I'd like to drain it, as I have no idea how long since it's been changed. Where is the correct drain, and how many gallons to refill? Thanks for the help y'all.

You're probably looking in the right spot but a lot of those dipsticks have disappeared off the cap over the years, maybe into the reservoir. The top of the oil level is approx. 9 inches below the top of the filler neck (info in archives). You can make yourself a dipstick out of an old car dipstick bent and marked to the right length. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the lift-all unit. The reservior holds 6 quarts.
