Hey Guys,
Kind of a stupid question. I have a 1950 H that has been converted to 12 volt. Would the amp gauge be different from the six volt? I want to use original style gauges on my restoration. Thanks. Ross

You say you are restoring it and want to keep the guage then why are you going to 12v when they have been starting and running with 6v for 60+yrs.

The tractor had already been converted to 12V when I bought it. I guess it all depends how you look upon a restoration. I didn't plan to restore the tractor to the exact way it left the factory, if that is possible. I rebuilt the engine and repainted the tractor. Of course the paint I used was better than was available when the tractor was built, so I guess it would not be a true restoration anyway. I was hoping to use gauges with the IH logo instead of a generic brand. The 12V system suits my needs better.

If you change to a negative ground alternator, reverse the leads on the ammeter so it will show a positive charge.

There are no stupid questions and yes your
amp gauge will work on 6 or 12 volts
