Guys - Last year, I bought a set of round spoke 36" rear wheels to replace the steel wheels on my F-12 (steel wheels aren't practical in the area I live). The wheels were cleaned up, painted, new tires installed, and put on the tractor. When the wheels were purchased, it was noticed that there was a crack thru the hub, cross tractor direction, radiating from the end of the holes cast in to allow the clamping feature to the axle to work. The wheels turn fine and true. Question is: Am I in danger of blowing up the hubs if I do any pulling on these wheels ? I have seen where steel rings are shrunk over the hubs to hold them together. Any words of wisdom on this repair ?

Thanx guys..... . Pete

Shouldve had that welded up before you painted them.I lost a finger because I thought mine were going to be ok until it busted and I somehow grabbed it when I was falling off the treactor and pinched my finger off.
