I am rebuilding the carb on my Super H, but I really don't understand the adjustment of the float procedures. Do you have to adjust it when it is hanging down, and then when it is upside down too. Thanks.

You only adjust it upside down, without the gasket as I recall.

The important thing, as the float can be way off and not appreciably affect performance, is to always make sure the float is straight in the center of it's bowl. A float dragging the side of the bowl is a real aggravation which can be hard to diagnose. The floats are deep enough that they may be a little twisted and drag on a protruding gasket. That's the hardest part of making your own carburetor gaskets: missing the float.

Considered adjusting mine this afternoon, decided not to. Instructions say upside down WITH the gasket. I believe the number for the Super H was 1 5/16, mine was right on, so I left it alone.
