International Crawler Information-I Know Nothing!!

I ran across an International crawler with bull-dozier blade, hydraulically operated, in the woods last week. The sign says International and the grill is styled very much like an M. I don't know where to find the serial number/model plate, in order to tell what it is. The lady who owns the property said that it was running five years ago when they cleared some brush to build a house. It ran out of fuel and they never moved it. She would like to get rid of it and said I can have it if I will haul it away. I don't know if it is worth it or not until I can find out what it is. It may be only worth $1.98 a pound. Any advice and direction will be appreciated, as I know nothing about crawlers.

Thanks to everyone for the information. I am going back to the woods and take another look at it in about three weeks. It had a can over the exhaust and a tarp over the engine area.

I'll go with you, you don't want it, I do!
I've been hoping to find one for awhile now, I've got just a billion things I could do with one, but there just aren't any around New England, especially not for that price.

Sorry about the $1.98 per pound. I meant to write $1.98 per hundred pounds, as in scrap metal.

Tell ya what, you buy it from her at whatever best price you can get. I'll buy it from you for a reasonable markup AND come and get it, where-is-as-is, you make money and don't even have to touch it!

The T-6 has the same gasoline or distillate engine as the M. Shipping weight without blade 6750 lbs.

The TD-6 has the same diesel engine as the MD. Shipping weight without blade 7010 lbs.

The T-9 has the same gasoline or distilate engine as the W-9. Shipping weight withoud blade 9300 lbs

The TD-9 has the same diesel engine as the WD-9. Shipping weight without blade 9525 lbs.

The early TD-14 and TD-18 had the same styling but were bigger. TD-14 weight without blade 15,520 lbs, and TD-18 without blade 22,570 lbs.

All of these models were introduced in 1939 and had several changes over the years.

The TD-24 was introduced in 1950 and was much larger. It had a shipping weight without blade of 37,500 lbs.

I would guess the tractor you are looking at is probably a 6 or 9 , or possably a 14, as they were most common.

Possibly it could be a TD-6,If it is look on what would be the firewall if it were a truck on the operator's side, it should be a plate.Check the engine for any similarity to the farmall M,let me know any more details..... AL

I agree its probably a 6 or a 9, since the others would be larger. I reminds me of when I first visited my TD-18, and found a large black snake lying at my feet as I crawled onto the tracks.
I'd taken a picture first, and low and behold, when they were developed, there was the doggoned snake, sunning atop the tracks. My story gets longer, but before you do too much else, take a picture of this jewel. You'll regret it down the road, if you don't preserve your 'find' for posterity. I have a full album of my "18" rebuild.
