Nothing can shift better than a 26, 56, 66. Say leave it in 2nd & it just smooths from R to H like a shuttle. I back into about 400 round bales, lift & go-back to trailer, drop bale & go. Shifts as smooth as silk. Got a dozen tractors, four colors - the 826 is THE one for bale moving.

The 56 and 66 series shift WAY better than the 86's! We have a 1256 with loader on it and I can shift that so fast, 1086 takes forever to get in gear just to go down the field, I would dread having it with a loader...

No, not really. I like the left hand shifting but why in the world they put the levers in the way for getting in and out of the cab is beyond me. It doesnt bother to much, got used to it years ago. The biggest thing on any of them is what condition the linkage is in and the trans brake.
