560 hydrolics slow???

Went out yesterday and started the 560 up to plow the driveway out. I have to pull it because my generator is shot, and the battery is weak. When it did fire off, my power steering didn't work, and the blade that I have on the back wouldn't move. I used the tractor this past wednesday, and the hydrolics worked good. It has done this once before, but I left it run for about 20 minutes and then it began to work. During that time, I heard a very loud squeeling noise coming from the pump. The next day, I changed the hydrolic filter, and it looked new. Oil looked good. The previous owner said he changed every fluid except the motor oil. It ran about 10-15 minutes yesterday, and the blade wouldn't move at all. My question is, could it be the pump, or is it the 0-20 degree weather we have been having? When I took the plate off the side to replace the filter, the oil looked like 30-40 weight, ran at a quick rate, and I hadn't had the tractor operating for over 24 hours? Note, the hydrolics are very stong, strong enough to pick the front end of the tractor off the ground, with over 400 pounds of weight on the front bracket {has a fast hitch}. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!!

I have a 560 that I have to keep inside all the time just for the trouble you are having. You got frozen water in your hyd fluid. heat it up with a heater till it will lift ,then run it a couple hours ,then drain it. Been there done that. If you keep foolin around with the ice and oil you will end up replacing the pump ,just like I did. I also had to replace a power steering line where the water seperated from the oil and froze and busted the steel line. I siliconed the top deck and the front cover ,it has a new shift boot and it'll still get water inside.

There could be some ice around the pickup screen in the rear end that is screwen up the works , if ya got a spaceheater try putten a tarp around the tractor and blowen the heat from the back to ft. for a coule hours , i am thinking that it is ice and has the pickup blocked off .

If there is no flow of oil the pump may have seized or started to seize and sheared the pump gear key. Typically what happens in cold temperatures is that the moisture or water in the system freezes and blocks off flow. Don't run the tractor very long if there is no hyd. flow. Tractors that set outside most of the time naturally get water from condensation in the hyd. reservoir.

I went out and tried her again today. Put the kerosene heater under her for about 45 minutes, went out, and gave her a pull. She ran excellent, but still, no hydolic power. I left her run for about 1/2 hour, and then the hydrolics kicked in just as they should. I think that I may end up having to replace the oil again. One more question, with my adjustment lever for the fast hitch, when I pull the lever all the way down {so that the cylinder will be all the way out}, the cylinder comes out all the way, but the pump continues to run. Then, when I push the lever all the way forward {to drop the cylinder all the way down}, the cylinder sticks out a good 2 1/2 inch, and the shaft won't go completly into the cylinder like it should. It worked great when I first got it, and then it started to show the cylinder won't go all the way in, and then the pump will run even when the cylinder is all the way out. Any ideas? Thanks!!

That sounds like either the gears are out of the fasthitch valve or a littel roll pin back on the hitch that centers the linkage in the valve is broke this is the linkage that runs up the left side of the tractor to the dash and goes into the valve assy. I had the pin break on a 460 that i had years ago and it had me stumped till i tore that linkage apart and found the problem. The pressure should drop off when the hitch reaches the hight that you want .
