I understand the W4= the H, the W6= the M. What was the high job for the W9? The W 4,6, and 9 ran all the same years didn't they?

I probably am exposing myself to second-guessing, but IH didn't feel the need to develop a row-crop version of the W-9. For that era, the M was considered quite big enough for the Midwest's row crop farms. A Super W-9 was never made, but the WD-9 was upgraded to a Super WD-9 in 1954. The diesel 600 and 650 are essentially the same beast as the Super WD-9.

The W-9 was an animal all of its own. Its newer cousins are the 600 and the 650. They are in a league of there own.
