In stead of buying the 15.00 pipe that goes from the exhaust manifold to the muffler, I just bought a 2.00 piece of pipe from the hardware store that was already threaded with pipe threads , and I need to cut it to the proper length. My question is : Is the muffler clamp supposed to go on the outside of the hood where it can be seen or on the inside. I have seen them both ways. Just wondering what is proper.

Thanks,
Jonathan Mirgon
By the way this is a 1940 Farmall (a)

jonathan: most Ih tractors I have seen are clamped outside it wil not matter much but if you clamp it inside you will have more metal to heat up and rember heat rises and guess whats directly on top.your paint job. paul
