DOES ANYONE KNOW THE TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ON A 49' "C" HEADBOLTS??

I have just picked up my rebuilt head from local machine shop (new valve seats/ new valves/ new springs/ pressure tested & fresh paint...total $278)& I am about to bolt it back onto my tractor, but I want to aviod any "stupid" (co$tly) mistakes. The tractor was running when the head was taken off (it was coughing & spitting, problem turned out to be burnt/ chipped valves, last time valves were done, they were hand filed to seat properly & were too thin at edges). While the tractor was apart, I spent 3 days cleaning/ painting it & buying ($800) worth of new parts (tires/ paint/ battery/ decals/ muffler/ starter). Any helpful hints would be appreciated..tomorrow I start putting it all back together.

Make sure you have the correct head gasket. My '50 C had 3 1/8" instead of the 3" pistons. Had trouble finding the correct gastket to match up with the water ports. Most of the 3 1/8" head gaskets assume you have a water pump so the water port holes are smaller. Ended up drilling them out to get better cooling flow. I used a high temp silicon and put a light coat on both sides of the gasket. If you check the archives others spray on a couple of coats of sealer. Be sure to start your torque sequence from the center and work out. I started torquing at 40 ft-lbs and worked my way up to 80 ft-lbs going in 10 lb increments. After you have run it for a while you will want to remove the valve cover and rocker arms and re-torque the head. This means resetting the valves. No big deal. The manifold is torqued to 20 flt-lbs. Valves are set to 0.014"

He about said it all but I got a couple suggestions. If you used aftermarket valve springs, guides or anything else check for coil bind or interferance at the top of the guide. I originaly got my parts at napa and I tell you I took it all back except the valve guides. None of it was right. I looked for myself in their book and it was right parts for the engine but they sure weren't right!
Also I have used felpro headgaskets now on three c's and super c'c and all of them leaked till I went back and put on a IH head gasket.
