Being the new owner of an M and not growing up around tractors, I have come to the conclusion that I need to get a manual. I have taken too much stuff apart and either broken it or been unable to get it back together. The problem is that there are a multitude of manuals out there.

So, which manual(s) do I need - parts, service, or owner/operator - or all three? Which is most important?

Is one place better than another to buy them? Any recommendations?

I have seen them advertised on eBay by WyomingBen. Anyone have any experience with that company?

This site has been a great source of information already. Thanks for any help.

Kevin

I suggest that you get all three manuals.I've dealt with WyomingBen on the Ebay and won a bid. They sent a copy of a Jensale reproduction of the orginal. They are cheaper than Jensale,if you win the bid on the manual you want.Their "buy it now" price is about the same as what you would pay for a Jensale order.

K.B. is right. Go to Binderbooks website for reproductions. They have the best quality at a competitive price.

I would suggest buying all three. Get a Parts Manual from your local Case-IH dealer, it has detailed diagrams of every part on the tractor, so you can see what goes where. Also, you can look up your own part numbers, making it easier for the parts man when you go to buy somthing. I would suggest buying an I&T Service Manual from your local farm store. They cost around $20, and are fairly detailed. Look around for a cheap reproduction Operator's Manual.
