Howdy,
I'm new to this Farmall board.
Pretty new to tractors altogether for that matter.
I do have a few Ford N's and an AC TL30.
I just picked up a 1935 F20.
I got it just to play around with, The price was right and it was close by.
Motor is stuck and I probably won't do anything with it for a couple of years. I put MMO in the cylinders and will just let it set for the time being.
But looking at the tractor it looks as if it could be a strong workhorse. That gear reduction alt to give it lots of power. What size Bush Hog could you pull with it?
Anyone know what it weighs?
What is the horsepower?
Anyone got any ideas on what jobs it would be right for?
I don't know if I would want to use it much. Don't think I would like using that hand start too much.
Someone had cut down the rear wheels to put 28-inch tires on it. What do most people run? 38?
Rims are about 12" to 13" wide. Is there a tire I can get to make up the height difference? Or should I just keep an eye out for new wheels?
That's a big spark plug in there. Are they easy to find? Are parts in general easy to find for it? What are the hardest parts to come by? All in all I think I will enjoy messing around with the old chuck of iron.

Carl

F20 spark plugs at Case/IH dealer, got mine at Carter & Grunwald, Juda ,Wisconsin. Can use it like H for mowing, 2-14 or 2-16 pull plow. Can use AC (C?) 26inch wheels also. Parts are out there, but sometimes not easy. Rice Equipment in Clarion, Pennsylvania has provided me some parts. Can still be a useful piece of farm equipment. RN

The F-20s are a lot of fun and people seem to like them a lot at shows. They are about 20 HP and weigh around 4000 LBS. Plugs and a lot of gaskets and things like that can be gotten at NAPA or other auto parts stores. Other parts can be gotten from Rice Equip. Lots of used parts out there. If you use it a little you will not want to bush hog with it. They are slow and not built for comfort but a lot of fun to drive around for a short time. Main thing, have fun with it.
