While I was at the local dealer trying to find a part I drove around the back of the dealership (where all the old stuff ends up) and spotted an IH 420 square baler. It must have been re-decalled at some point, as the 420 numbering is upside down for some reason. I am sort of looking out for a small square baler to use next year. Does anyone have any experience with this baler? The only experience I have had with IH balers was with a 45 and that was all bad. Don't want to get into that again.

Not trying to buy it out from under you, but where was it located. I have been looking for a baler. And like you I don't want to have much money in it. I am in south central MO David

ive got a 420 and really like it. just have to make near perfect windrows. kinda like round baling with an old nh. rows are best huge and no big clumps. better to do this than make little rows and go fast. 420 takes alot of hay fast. it works easy on an H or bigger.

Where are you located? I have a 46 IH which is a good baler. Shedded but not been used for sometime. Located in Eastern Iowa. Let me know if you are interested.

I am in central MO. A little farther than I want to pull/haul one. I am really reluctant to buy an IH baler after my experience with the 45, (setting rusting away now) and would really like to find a NH baler in good condition, but just happened onto this one, and thought I might be able to get a good deal on it.

I'm in Eastern Mo. What dealership was this? Not looking for a baler, so don't worry about me trying to buy it from under you. Just curious.

I work for a NH dealership in the summers in parts. All I can say is if you buy a used NH baler, go ahead and get a new roll of chain.
