I have a d-236 in my 460 is it possible to make it a d-282 by getting a 282 kit and installing it or does the block have to be machined? or is it just not possible. Thanx for any info.

Diesel 236 and 282 same block, bearings, crank has longer stroke, shorter piston pin height, rods same, 806 gas would bolt in but this is glow plug start diesel.

You can put an 806 block in a 460 if you want to.

The difference in the 460 and the 560 was the crankshaft and the pistons for the 460 were longer than the 560 tomake up for the shorter crank through gas or desiel. changed maney 460's to 560's get 560 crank and 560 piston's, makes a big believer out of a 460.
