My Farmall Super C Hydraulic system is not operating correctly. My implements move very slowly going downward and operate correctly going
upward. I have replaced hydraulic cylinder and problem was not corrected. I have swapped lines and the problem is then reversed. (slowly moving upward and okay going downward)

Frank, I can tell you what I did to my super c after working on it off and on for about five years. It worked exactly as you described. I always thought the problem was in that valve ahead of the seat that the hoses go through to get to the cylinder. I had it apart several times and could'nt see anything wrong. The last time I drilled out two of the ports where the hoses go in. I don't remember which two or what size drill bit. If you look at it I think one port is angle drilled and one is already as big as it could be leaving the other two. Mine works great. Sometimes it does'nt get started for three or four months and the hitch never drops a bit.

Doubt if the problem is in the cylinder. Start by cleaning the mesh filter that comes out of the right side of the reservoir, and put in fresh Hytran. If that doesn't fix it, you need to disassemble the reservoir and put a kit in it. Not hard, but will take some time. The hyd should have enough down pressure to lift one side of the rear of the tractor off the ground. FIRST, you might check the archives, as the "fast up, slow down" thing has been discussed before, you may get a different opinion.

I meant to say the filter comes out of the LEFT side of the reservoir.

You will have to tell us more about your system. Super C's came with enclosed rock shaft system that only has power up and uses gravity to lower. If you are using an aux. cylinder then your system has been modified.

Big John, The Super C did come with the fast hitch that used an auxilary cylinder to raise and lower it. The fast hitch also had down pressure from the factory. The rockshafts do also have some down pressure. While it is not a lot, there is some.
