will not go in gear starts and runs fine , will shift when not running , will not start in gear with clutch in , was shifting fine when parked 1 wk ago help!!!!! !!!!! !!

Hi, we had SC wich is just an older model of 230.
It would do a similar thing and the problem was pilot bearing.
The pilot bearing on the SC was just a bronze bushing in the flywheel and lubricant would dry up, then the bushing would sieze to the transmission shaft and even though the clutch was released the transmission shaft would turn.
Try breaking it loose by: ENGINE OFF, putting trator in 4th gear hold the clutch depressed with a block and rock rear wheels.

Dennis,
The pilot bearing in the flywheel might be froze up causing the transmission shaft to turn all the time. You might have to have someone pull start you and disengage the clutch and hit the brakes to try to get it freed up. Or the clutch might be stuck to the flywheel. Good luck, hope this helps
