I am a rookie at this, matter of fact this one and one more will make two. I've recieved a H at a good price,(Come and get it and its yours). I am looking for a good book to help me through the finer points of restoration. I figure that with the abundance of these tractors already done this would be a good beginners kit. I am also curios about how you would be able to tell if it has already been convertted to 12v. Thanks in advance.

Turtle:
Binder Books has parts, owner, and service manuals. If you can only do two, get parts and owners. If only one is in your budget get the parts manual as it shows the order of things as you put it together. Have fun. Morgan

This board is an excellent source for information. There are many books. For specifications and paint, etc. get Guy Fay's Letter Series Book. Two other good books are Antique Tractor Bible by Spencer Yost, and How To Rebuild and Restore Farm Tractor Engines by the same author. If your tractor has a battery, 12 volt has 6 cells, 6 volt, 3 cells and 8 volt, 4 cells. It was originally 6 volt, if it has an alternator it is likely 12.

I'm sure there will be many more answers from guys who own this type of tractor. If you go to E-Bay or Amazon (try your library) and you do a serach for farmall, you will find some restoration books. If you do a search by author, you will find some books from Guy Fay as well. This site should also have books.
Good Luck !

Brian.
