I have a couple: 1. What type of fluid does the tranny, axle, and hydraulics use? 2. Oil filter number from NAPA or Non IH Store? (one is not available locally?

Don't buy anything except oil and filters for it at napa. when I was rebuilding my engine I tried to go cheaper and got all new valve parts from napa. springs, valves, guides, keepers, and also some con rod bearings. The rod bearings were the only thing that fit. Guides were too long and too big on the od. springs were way too long. They bound before even getting close to max lift. keepers were wrong size. Stay with IH as much as possible. Mail order if you have to. We double and tripple checked all the numbeers and my engine to make sure the right stuff was ordered and it was correct. I have the c-123 with original firecrator pistons. Napa did have good ignition parts for mine but In my opinion IH parts are better and last longer.

I have to agree with Dan on getting parts from Case/IH. My theory has always been that you get what you pay for. Cheapest is not always best. I have had very good luck ordering my parts through Case/IH. They may not always look exactly like the original for they always fit and work as advertised. CNKS is correct on the fluids. Just my $0.02 worth

The oil filter is # 1193I believe, sny filter for a Continental C-123 engine. The trans/differential fluid is 10-W oil, Napa VV 760, and the hydraulic fluid is Napa VV 813.

Hytran or equivalent goes in the hydraulics, 90 weight or 85W-140 in the transmission. transmission won't last long with 10W in it. The engine was made by IH not Continental.
