I am a new proud owner of a 1945 Farmall A and while I was waiting to get it delivered I've been scouring the magazines, on-line forums, eBay, etc, to try to find attachments, but so far have found NONE. Are they really that hard to find?

I'm looking for a blade/scraper kind of like this one for a Cub that's on eBay right now, or a rear blade:

What's the best place to look for implements/attachments for an A?

Thanks,
Glenn Reid

Do you want other attachments beside the blade. I have a moldboard hand lift plow also an A-138 CULT.

Glenn: Many of the offset Farmalls, all models were sold new without any attachments. These tractors were built and designed by IH for use on vegetable farms, market gardens, tobacco, etc. One item IH never counted on was the popularity of them with livestock farmers. Many of them spent years mowing hay, wearing out 2-3 mowers each.

I have seen these tractors bought up in the 60s and 70s by people wanting them for nothing more than hauling a light utility trailer, lawn mowers, etc. and they cut the attachments up for scrap.

As tiny said fabrication is the answer. Many of the attachments you see around new small tractor shops can be adapted to mount on your tractor. I have 14 different attachments for my tractors. Only three of them are original IH attachments. Four of them are modified 3 point hitch attachments, and the balance are complete fabrications.

I made my own scraper blade out of a jeep snow plow and a hydulic pump off a cement truck. If you want pictures e-mail me with a subject of farmall A and I will get some for you.
