I would like to know when the farmaall cub switched from magneto to distributor. I thought it was 1950 but I want to be sure. Can anyone help me. Thank You

This isn't very scientific, because any year tractor can be changed to the other system, but I did an inventory of all my Cubs' systems. Cubs with distributors: '49, '50, two '53s, '57, and '63. Cubs with mags: '48, '49' and '51.

Note, the '50 and '51 run counter to the '50 change-over date.

The battery ignition became standard in 1951. My literature with the exact serial number for this change is not near the computer. But to complicate matters, battery ignition was an option before 1951, some tractors were converted fom magneto, and the magneto continued to be optional for quite some time later than 1951.
