Hi All,
I'm starting work (may lead to restoration) on my grandfathers 1020 and was wondering if there are any good overall parts sources for these vintage workhorses. Perhaps junkyards or dealers specializing in McCormick Deering/old IH? I'm going to need several items from engine and magneto rebuild parts to body and general mechanical such as steering linkage.
Thank you,
Greg

I agree with JerePa, I have used Rice Equipment for years and have good luck with them! He sells parts for 1923-1939 IH Tractors. Gordon Rice is a great guy. Good Luck!!

Hi Greg,I just get excited when I hear of another oldie be saved,so many even now are being sold as scrap metal because they weigh up good.I,ve restored two 10-20's in the past couple years.I have some extra part that I would part with.Only thing is I live in Canada so it might be costly to ship to you unless it was small parts.Rice Equipment in PA. is the best source of new part. His parts are quality stuff with decent prices.I'll email you the parts and price sheet and a couple photo,s of the last two I restored, the grey one is a 1931 and the red one is a 37.Theres a few things that can give you headaches on those 10-20's like the throttle,it don't work like engines today. You just restrick the govenor to so it down.It took me days to figure that out. GOOD LUCK, WILL
