I know of a WK-40 with round spoke wheels sitting on a abandoned farm near me. Would it be worth it to try to acquire it. I don't know anything about them. There seems to be alot of 15-30's around but this is the only WK-40 I have seen. Could somebody fill me in on this tractor.

I was at an auction two weeks ago in northern MN where there was a running WK-40 with rear steel and front rubber. Tractor was not painted, and had a large crack in the exhaust manifold. I think it sold for about $3500. There was also a running 15-30 on full steel at the auction, which sold for $750, so that should give you an idea of what it's worth. A picture of the WK-40 that was sold can be seen at Link

Dear Green Envy, The WK-40 is a very desireable tractor, and if you can add one, to your collection, I would. Of the earlier series, of McCormick Deering tractors, the WK-40 usually demands the highest prices also. This tractor was IH's first, with a 6 cylinder engine.

Happy Tractoring, Ken

Those tractors use a FBB-298 truck engine with different manifolds. They were a mate to the WD-40 diesels of that time. They were the biggest tractors of that era. They would make a nice project & parts aren't that hard to get. JerePa
