DOES THE BELT PULLEY AND THE PTO TURN THE SAME AMOUNT OF RPMS ON A 1940 FARMALL A? THANKS.

no the pto speeds are all the same on tractors of this age at 530rpm the A you have is rated on the belt pulley is 1495 if you will turn the pulley over you would see that it runs approx three times faster than the pto

Steve,
The pto turns 541 rpm at rated engine speed (engine 1400 rpm). The belt pulley turns 1157 rpm which is 2574 fpm at rated engine rpm on the Farmall A.
