We want to replace the pistons and sleeves on our 1942 Farmall H. How do you get the sleeves out?

The welder idea works good. Just make sure it has sleeves. I welded one that didn't have sleeves. When the machine shop got thru with it, it did.

They make Sleeve pullers, may try finding one at a local NAPA store. If your replacing the sleeves and just junking them, may try using a 2x4 and a hammer or hydrulic floor jack to force them out the top of the block.

If you have a welder, running a bead the length of the sleeve in two or three equally spaced spots will shrink it enough that you can tap it right out. Did that with an F12 block that a sleeve puller wouldn't even budge.
